Purity review / Computer Music
March 2006 |

...In fact, simplicity is where Purity really scores. There are better sounding plug-ins out there, but not for this money and not with the low load that this synth imposes. Add to this its brilliant architecture, a bonus sequencer (should you want to use it standalone), 24 insert effects and more synthesis features than many other ROMpler-type sound generators, and Purity becomes a product that we can wholeheartedly recommend to musicians of every persuasion.

Ravity review / Keys
November 2005 |

Ravity review / Espace Cubase
September 2004 |

...La bonne surprise vient des sons qui sont d'excellente facture vu la consommation CPU ultra minimaliste de cet instrument, et le peu de place qu'il prend sur le disque dur (32Mo)...

Ravity review / Computer Music

...It should be obvious that we like Ravity a lot. Luxonix have succeeded where many have come up short: they've delivered a cracking set of patches and a healthy set of parameters that allow you to tweak them to perfection - all bundled into an inviting and user-friendly package. Anyone wanna buy a used JV-2080?

Ravity review / Sound On Sound
August 2004 |

...Luxonix have provided a very compact and easy-to-use module that is capable of producing a good palette of bread-and-butter sounds (drums, pianos, organs, strings, brass, basses and synth leads, basses and pads) suitable for almost any style of music...
...As Mike Senior has described recently in his series on XG synthesis, by layering basic sounds together it is possible to build up something much more complex. Patches such as 'Deep Blue See', 'Fascination' and 'Drama' (all within the Slow Synth category) are really effective and demonstrate Ravity's potential. This said, even the single-layer patches can be very good indeed ('Hysteria', with a little pitch-bend, is great for lead lines!)...

...With two indespensible plugins that look, sound, behave, and feel like true PCM romplers, all the while keeping cpu usage to a minimum and sound |

quality at a maximum, it's impossible to imagine that Luxonix will go unnoticed in the music world....

...CM : How would you compare Ravity with the many muliti-gigabyte sampled instruments (eg, SampleTank, the Kontakt Player instruments) that are currently available?
H-SZ : They are very good instruments, but Ravity serves a very different purpose to them. We have aimed not only for good quality of sound, but also more efficient and faster performance. Ravity is a genuine PCM ROMpler, isn't it?...

Ravity news / Computer Music
June 2004 |

Multi-Gigabyte, Rompler-Style Software sound modules are everywhere at the moment, so you may raise an eyebrow when you learn that Luxonix's new Ravity contains just 32MB of wave data. Ravity is virtual PCM synth module that unashamedly follows the blueprint set out by manufacturers of hardware-based modules in the past : it even looks like a rack-mounted unit...

Ravity review / Trax Music
May 2004 |
...If you personally have been less than enamored with the aural distinctiveness of Sonic Reality's Sonic Synth or Steinberg's Hypersonic with its 'dull' sounding presets, and desired the layers, control, |
speed and spice that a good hardware ROMpler offers, it is certainly worth your time to check out ravity. Its out-of-the-box presets are simply sublime, and it's so nice to not have to tweak presets this way and that to get a great sound, but leaves the options open for you to tweak them for your own use...
